The median and means at each Year level are very similar (indicating essentially normally distributed data). The spread (SD) increases with higher Year levels. (The thesis considers contradictory effects- this one of increasing SD when teacher judgement assessment is applied versus reducing SDs when a vertical test scale is used). Note the linear gradients up to Year 7 for mean and SD.
